Questions and Answers! - Leaflets work!!

For our first Blog entry on our new website, I would like to share with you a conversation with a customer today and my thoughts on why and how leafleting is still a more than viable advertising method.

Our customer is looking to target particular property types and also homeowners rather than tenants. We were of course, as is standard with our service offer advice and the benefit of our experience to make suggestions as to the best parts of Bristol that would be the most suitable or his target market.

Once this was all agreed, our customer who is trying leaflet distribution as a advertising method for the first time, asked us the 64 million dollar question!!!

"what kind of a response rate will we get?"

If only it was this simple! - we'd simply love to be able to give all of our clients this information for each delivery we carry out.
The reality is it depends on so many factors. Some of which are as follows, which all need to be considered and accounted for prior to us putting the material through the doors of the good people of Bristol.

  • Leaflet Design - are they well designed with all key information displayed, correctly and in proportion. Has consideration been giving to all the key points?, are they eye catching whilst not overloading the recipient with too much information
  • Target areas - Some areas will suit certain business types more so than others. Bristol is a very diverse City, with some areas being suitable for some business whilst irrelevant in part to others. We are always happy to advise on our thoughts and data in this sector.
  • Timing - is this the right time of year for people to be interested in your product?, certain business types have recognised peaks and troughs in their sales throughout the year, recognising the right time to cash in on buying patterns of customers could be key in putting your message in front of them when they have an idea to spend money on the product you offer.
  • Are you ready? - It would be great to have a big upturn in potential sales calls that are generated from your planned leaflet drop, make sure you are ready to handle them, enough staff, phones switched on, prompt reply to emails will all help turn enquiries into sales.
  • >Call to Action - This is the BIG ONE - make sure, when designing your leaflet that it includes some form of a call to action. Give the customer a reason to call you, a special offer for example. Give them a reason and a prompt to turn the interest that they have in your leaflets and your services to a real reason to contact you and make a deal.

Get all of these things correct and then it's over to us, we have the operation in place to complete the final part of the process. All of your leaflets delivered to the right area at the right time is still very much a very viable and cost effective method of advertising. Proven to work time and time again.
